CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2025
Aspirants who are preparing for the CSIR exam should prepare in a better or orderly manner. We are providing here the Exam pattern for this year. The CSIR UGC exam pattern is a paper that contains multiple-choice questions of 200 marks.
The CSIR Net exam pattern is divided into three parts - A, B and C. Section A of the exam in all the subjects will be the same, that is candidates’ general aptitude whereas sections B and C will have subject-specific questions. Each section contains a different number of questions. The total number of questions that candidates need to attempt in the exam differs according to the subject chosen by the individual. The duration for completing this exam is 3 hours.

- Parts A, B, and C comprise the three portions of each CSIR NET Question Paper 2025.
- The General Aptitude questions in CSIR NET Part-A evaluate applicants' capacity for teaching and research, reasoning, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
- The topics selected by candidates from the following five subjects—Earth Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences—are the basis for the questions in Paper B and Part C.
- There are 200 marks assigned to the exam.
- For every incorrect response, there is a 25% deduction in marks (or 33% for some sections).
- The test consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in an objective format.
- There is only one three-hour CSIR NET exam.
- None of the three sections are separated.

CSIR NET Syllabus: Part A
All five subjects have the same CSIR NET Part A syllabus. General science, quantitative reasoning, and analysis and research aptitude are all covered in Part A's questions.
