As per the PGCIL Diploma Trainee Eligibility Criteria, the applicants must have the following qualifications depending on the stream they are applying for:

• Diploma (Electrical): The candidate should have completed three years of Diploma in Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/Power System Engineering, Power Engineering (Electrical) from a recognised Technical Board/Institute with minimum 70% marks. 
• Diploma (Civil): The candidate should have completed three years of Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Technical Board/Institute with a minimum of 70% marks. 
• Diploma (Electronics): The candidate should have completed three years of Diploma in Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Electrical Communication/ Telecommunication Engineering from a recognised university with a minimum of 70% marks.

The candidate must be an Indian national and have government-issued documents to establish the nationality to be eligible.
