Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Option 3 : 1 km to the South
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFLet's trace Ali's movements:
To find the shortest distance and direction from P to A:
- Net displacement in the East direction: 21 km - 23 km + 2 km = 0 km
- Net displacement in the North direction: -11 km + 12 km = 1 km
This means Point P is 1 km to the North of the East-West line passing through Point A.
Therefore, Ali should drive 1 km towards the South to reach Point A again.
