The RBI Grade B selection process is a multi-stage process to ensure the appointment of the most eligible candidates for this post. The recruitment takes place in three stages including a Prelims, Mains and an Interview round. Details of the same are discussed below.

Stage 1: RBI Grade B Prelims

This stage is on for RBI Grade B (DR) General. It will be an online exam consisting of Objective Type Questions only. It assesses the candidate's knowledge of General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language. Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate to be eligible for the Main exam. 

Stage 2: RBI Grade B Mains

This stage comprises an online examination including descriptive and objective type questions. The weightage of this stage varies, based on the post as follows:

• Grade B (DR) General: It consists of 3 papers, each worth 100 marks, making the total weightage 300 marks.
• Grade B (DR) - DEPR: This is divided into Phase I (objective + descriptive) and Phase II (descriptive). Each phase has 2 papers, each worth 100 marks, so the total weightage is 400 marks.
• Grade B (DR) - DSIM: This stage has a total weightage of 300 marks. Phase I includes Paper 1 (objective) for 100 marks, and Phase II includes Paper 2 and Paper 3 (descriptive), each worth 100 marks.

Stage 3: RBI Grade B Interview 

Candidates who clear the Mains exam are called for an interview which carries 75 marks. Candidates may choose to answer the questions asked in the interview in either Hindi or English. The final merit list for all posts is prepared on the basis of scores obtained in the Main exam (300 marks) and interview (75 marks).
