Concept:

Let's, consider the current flows on the R as I2

According to KCL,  I = I1 + I2

Given: I = 25 A

Calculation:

The voltage across both resistors is 200 V.

\(I_1 = \frac{V}{R}=\frac{200}{40}= 5 A\)

I = I1 + I2 ⇒ 25 = 5 + I2

I2 = 20 A.

Now, to get R

\(R = \frac{V}{I}= \frac{200}{20} = 10~ \Omega\)

Hence, the value of R is 10 Ω
