ఇద్దరు బంధువుల ప్రస్తుత వయస్సుల మొత్తం 46 సంవత్సరాలు,
⇒ x + y = 46 ----(1)
ఎనిమిదేళ్ల క్రితం, పెద్దవాడి వయస్సు చిన్నవాడి కంటే రెండింతలు,
⇒ (x - 8) = 2(y - 8)
⇒ x - 2y = -8 ----(2)
సమీకరణం (2) నుండి సమీకరణం (1)ని తీసివేయగా,
