We know,
a2 = (d1/2)2 + (d2/2)2 [a = side of rhombous, d1 and d2 are diagonals]
⇒ (2.8/2)2 + (2x/2)2 = (5)2
⇒ 1.96 + x2 = 25
⇒ x2 = 23.04
⇒ x = 4.8 m
Length of the other diagonal = 4.8 × 2 = 9.6 m
Also, area of rhombous = ½ × product of diagonals
∴ Area of rhombus = 1/2 × 2.8 × 9.6 = 13.44 m2
