Concept:

The true length of the line is given by -

\(L = \frac{{l'}}{l} \times L' \)       ...(1)

Here,

L - True length of the line

l - Actual/true length of the chain

L' - Measured length of the line

l' - Corrected length of the chain

Calculation:

Given,

L = 200 m

l = 20 m

L' = 200.8 m

From (1)

\(L = \frac{{l'}}{l} \times L' \)

\(200 = \frac{{l'}}{{20}} \times 200.8\)

⇒ l' = 19.92 m

Hence, Corrected length, l' = 19.92 m
