CBSE conducts the CTET Exam all over India to certify the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts in Government Schools across the country. The CTET qualifier exam is conducted twice a year. Candidates preparing for the exam must be aware of the CTET Exam Pattern, to understand the marking scheme, sectional weightage, and other details. It is important to note that the CTET Exam has two papers, Paper 1 (for teachers of classes I to V) & Paper 2. (for teachers of classes VI to VIII). Candidates can appear for either one or both of these papers. Highlights of the CTET Exam Pattern Paper 2 

The Paper 2 exam is conducted in online mode and candidates applying for the CTET Paper 2 will be qualified as higher secondary teacher teaching classes VI-VIII. Students can choose either Maths/Science which has a base of Mathematics and Science separately. Students of Social/ Political Science Background can choose Social Science in the choice. 

The CTET Paper comprises 150 marks and has the following subjects 

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language 1
  • Language 2
  • Mathematics and Science or Social Studies

  • The 150 questions are multiple-choice questions
  • The total time for the CTET Paper 2 is 150 minutes i.e, 2.5 hours

Detailed CTET Exam Pattern Paper 2 

The CTET Paper 2 Exam Pattern will give the students an insight into Subjects, Marks and the total marks to be scored. Candidates preparing for the CTET Paper 2 Exam must be aware of the CTET Exam Pattern Paper 2 to prepare well for the examination. Clearing the CTET Paper 2 will make the candidates eligible for the job of a teacher at the elementary level. The questions asked will be subject-specific and the exam is moderately difficult compared to CTET Paper 1. Aspirants must remember that they can choose either Mathematics/ Science or Social Studies / Social Science according to their base subject. CTET Exam Pattern Paper 2 - Marking Scheme

It is as important for the candidates to know the marking scheme for the CTET Exam as equal to the CTET Paper 2 Exam Pattern. The total mark for the CTET Exam is 150 and knowing the marking scheme would help the candidates in scoring full marks.

CTET Paper 2 - Nature of the Questions Asked

Students must know the nature of the questions asked as this is a competitive exam. Candidates must read through the Nature of the questions asked carefully to crack the exam efficiently. Knowing the nature of the questions asked is crucial to know the new type of questions, knowing the familiarity of the questions asked, and knowing the pattern of the questions asked.

  • Questions asked from the child development and Pedagogy session will be based on understanding pedagogy concepts. Students while preparing must keep in mind to prepare from the base what they have learnt during their school.
  • Questions asked from the Language 1 and Language 2 Session will focus on reading comprehension. Candidates must read all the paragraphs given carefully to answer all the questions
  • The Questions from Mathematics/ Science will be from, Concepts, Problem Solving, Pedagogical Understanding, etc. Mathematics and Science will be asked for 30 marks each.
  • The questions asked for CTET Paper 2 exam will be from NCERT books of class VI-VIII. Candidates can use those books as their primary source of preparation. 

CTET Exam Mode 2023

Candidates are advised to know the latest updates of the CTET Exam as they are published. Every year new updates are released by the CBSE for the CTET Exam. Students can get the details on the latest updates on the mode of the CTET Exams 2023 here.

  • Candidates will not be allowed to take up retest in case they were not able to write their exams on date.
  • Malpractices in the form of anything will be not appreciated, Students attempting to do malpractices will be sent out of the examination hall and their hall tickets will be canceled.
  • Students can approach the invigilator for any help regarding medical or any assistance required.
  • Candidates are advised to check the CTET Exam Pattern Paper 2 before appearing and they must have all the necessary details for the exam before entering the exam hall.
  • Consuming Tobacco, spitting, and using eatables are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates are not allowed to have any: Mobile phones, gadgets, Bluetooth devices, pager, health band, stationery items like bits of paper, geometry boxes, and any other items like that.
  • Candidates who are late to the exam will not be allowed inside the exam hall
  • Candidates are advised to carry a copy of their admit card and any other valid ID Proof with them without fail.
  • The exam halls for shift one will be open from 7:30-12:30 candidates must be there in the exam 120 minutes before the exam starts.
