RPSC RAS Syllabus & exam pattern for 2025 cycle has been released by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). Candidates need to understand the detailed syllabus along with the RAS exam pattern to strategize their preparation for the exam. The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts the RAS exam to recruit eligible candidates for various administrative positions in the state. The selection process involves three phases: Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. While the Prelims serve as a screening test, only those who qualify can appear for the Mains exam. The RPSC RAS Pre Examination is qualifying in nature. It includes single objective-type paper based on General Knowledge and General Science. This paper evaluates candidates’ understanding across various topics. Candidates must prepare thoroughly in each of these areas to qualify for the Mains stage.

The RPSC RAS Mains Exam consists of four compulsory papers with no optional subjects. Papers I to III focus on General Studies including history, economics, science, polity, ethics, and administration. The RPSC RAS 2025 exam will be held in two main stages: Prelims and Mains. The Prelims exam is only for qualifying and does not count in the final selection. Candidates who pass both the Prelims and Mains exams will be called for a Personal Interview. The interview will be the final step to select candidates for the job. Below is the detailed exam pattern for RPSC RAS 2025.
The preliminary exam is the first stage of the RPSC RAS selection process. It acts as a qualifying test, and only candidates who clear this round will be shortlisted for the mains exam.

Those who qualify in the Prelims will move on to the Mains. The number of candidates selected for the Mains will be around 15 times the total number of vacancies.
The Mains is a descriptive type exam.
It includes four compulsory papers—no optional subjects.
The first three papers are General Studies, and the fourth one tests language skills in English and Hindi.
The General Studies papers will be of graduation level, while language papers will be at the senior secondary level.
The marks from this stage will be counted for final selection.
Each paper includes a mix of short, medium, and long-answer questions.
