Grinding Machine FAQs

A grinding machine is an electric tool used for machining in which an abrasive wheel is used as a cutting tool. By shear deformation, the surface of the wheel containing grains of abrasives cuts a small chip out of the workpiece under operation.

The grinding machine can be used for various applications including surface finishing, deburring, milling, finishing flat and cylindrical surfaces, and slitting.

Several types of these machines are used in industries today. A few of them are most commonly used: Bench grinding machines, portable grinding machines, surface grinding machines, and cylindrical grinding machines.

The surface grinding machine is the most commonly used type.

A surface grinder is a machine tool used to make precisely ground or finished surfaces. The average precision is within 0.002 mm.
