Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, also known as GITAM, has to open the Application process for GITAM Admission Test (GAT).  The Applications are open for MBA, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Architecture, Science, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Management, Nursing, Paramedical, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru GITAM campuses. • The last day to apply for the MBA phase 1 is 1st February 2023, MBA Phase 2 is 1st March 2023 GAT (All programmes) phase 1 is 26th March 2023.

What is GITAM GAT?

The Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management Admission Test (GITAM GAT) is the online entrance test conducted by the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) University for admission to its UG and PG programs of Pharmacy, Technology, and Architecture. The university offers these courses in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam. It’s a university-level entrance exam held seven times a year. The GITAM GAT 2023 Exam for each stream will be conducted only online (computer-based). Along with GITAM GAT 2023, JEE Main, TS EAMCET, & AP EAMCET scores will also get considered for B.Tech offered by the Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, and Hyderabad campuses. The result of GITAM GAT 2023 will be released separately for all phases. Applicants who have applied for the exam can refer to the previous year's question papers to ace the exam with a good score.

GITAM GAT Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates can refer to the points below to check if they are eligible for the course they want to apply for. Candidates should check the GITAM GAT eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying for the exam.

The criteria that will remain the same for all the programs are mentioned below:

• Attempts: You can only appear once for each course during every phase. When you use the registered email twice, GITAM considers it a duplicate application and prevents you from doing so. Hence, you can only appear for one exam for the given academic year. However, you can reappear for the GAT exams for the next academic year with no hassle. 
• Nationality: Should be of Indian nationality.
• Age Eligibility: Candidates should have completed their 12th standard qualifying examination. Those candidates who will qualify in 2023 will also be termed eligible.

The academic qualification will vary according to the program/courses chosen. The academic criteria of programs wise are listed below. Go through it carefully.

Engineering 

UG Engineering

• For B.Tech Programs (except Biotechnology): A minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA (55% in case of CBSE and ICSE) aggregate marks in Intermediate or 10+2 examination from a recognized central / state board (except open schools) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects and Qualified in GAT UG (Engineering) 2023.
• B.Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA (55% in case of CBSE and ICSE) aggregate marks in Intermediate or 10+2 examination from a recognized central / state board (except open schools) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics / Biology subjects and Qualified in GAT UG (Engineering) 2023.

PG Engineering

A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination from a recognized University and score obtained in GAT (Engineering PG) 2023 as specified below.

Architecture

UG Program/ B.Arch 

• A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Intermediate or 10+2 examination or 10+3 Diploma with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
• In addition to the above, the candidates have to qualify in NATA with a minimum of 70 marks out of 200 marks or qualifying marks as prescribed by the Council of Architecture for B.Arch Admission are eligible for admission. 

PG Program/ M.Arch 

A Bachelor of Architecture degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and score obtained in GAT (PG Architecture) - 2023. 

Humanities 

UG Humanities and Social Sciences

• B.A Programs: A Minimum of 60% of marks in Pre-University / Higher Secondary / 10+2 / Intermediate examination in any discipline or equivalent from any recognized Board or Council. 
• B.A Economics: A Minimum of 60% of marks in Pre-University / Higher Secondary / 10+2 / Intermediate examination in any discipline or equivalent from any recognized Board or Council. For admission in B.A. Economics, the applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics at the qualifying examination (10+2 level).

PG Humanities and Social Sciences

• M.A Applied Psychology: Any bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 60% marks, excluding Bachelor of Fine Arts with an English Medium background.
• M.A English Language and Literature: Graduation in any stream with a minimum of 60% marks and proficiency in English 
• M.A Economics: Any Bachelor of Arts Degree with at least one core area being Economics (or) BBA (or) B. Com (or) B. Sc Mathematics (or) B. Sc Statistics with at least 60% marks. 

Law

UG Program (B.A / B.B.A. LLB)

A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the Intermediate / 10 +2 or equivalent level with any combination of subjects from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent, and also score obtained in GAT (Law UG) - 2023.

PG Program 

• The Candidate should have passed Graduation in Law (LL.B / BA.LLB / BBA.LLB / BSc.LLB / B.Com.LLB) from any recognized University with no less than 50% marks (45% in case of SC / ST and persons with disability). 
• Candidates awaiting results may also apply for the course. 
• Admission into the LLM program is based on the LSAT / CLAT course. As per the orders of the Supreme Court, there is no age limit for candidates who wish to pursue LLM.

Management

Pass in qualifying examination i.e., Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent and also rank obtained in GAT (Management UG) - 2023, subject to the following criteria:

Paramedical

UG / B.Sc. Paramedical programs

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent with Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English subjects.

Pharmacy

UG Pharmacy / B.Pharm 

A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Intermediate or 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also score obtained in GAT (UG Pharmacy) - 2023. 

PG Pharmacy 

Pass in B.Pharm. from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and score obtained in GAT (PG Pharmacy) - 2023.

Physiotherapy 

UG / Bachelor in Physiotherapy

A minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA (55% in case of CBSE and ICSE) aggregate marks in the Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent with Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English subjects in academic years.

Nursing

UG / B.Sc. Nursing

A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent in academic years with Biology, Physics, Chemistry & English as subjects. 

PG/ M.Sc. Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care

• Applicants must possess a registered B.Sc. Nurse with a minimum of one year of clinical experience, in any critical care unit.
• Must have undergone the B.Sc. Nursing in an Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
• Must have scored not less than 55% aggregate marks in the B.Sc. (N) program.
• Pass in qualifying examination from a recognized central / state University or its equivalent and also rank obtained in GAT (Nursing PG) - 2023.

Science

UG Science 

A pass with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or second division in the group (Optional Subjects) in Intermediate/10+2 examination from recognized State Boards/CBSE/ICSE or equivalent. Refer to the following table for qualifying examinations with specializations at the Intermediate/10+2 level: 

PG Science 

Qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the concerned discipline from any recognized university and also the candidate has to appear for GAT (PG Science) 2023.

GAT Selection Process

Candidates who clear the GITAM GAT Exam will be eligible for the counselling process through which they can take admissions in various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.

GITAM GAT Registration Process 2023

Candidates can follow the following steps to register for the exam process.

Step 2: Click "Register Here" If you haven't registered yet, or add your email id/phone and password and click submit.

Step 3: Enter the required details to generate login credentials if not already registered. Else, enter the credentials and log in.

Step 4: Follow the instructions and fill out the application form with the correct details.

Step 5: Pay the application fee through a credit/debit card.

Step 6: Save your login credentials for future reference. 

GITAM GAT Exam 2023 Application Process

GAT Exam Application Fee

Candidates can refer to the following table to check the application fees. Candidates can pay the fees online via Net banking, credit/debit card, or demand draft. Once the GAT application form 2023 is submitted, candidates will receive a confirmation message from the exam authorities through email or SMS.

Once the fee is submitted by the candidate, it cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

GITAM GAT Syllabus

The University decides the syllabus for the GITAM GAT 2023 exam. Therefore, it would help if the candidates go through the GITAM GAT syllabus of their desired course to get an insight into the topics and exam pattern.

The syllabus of the GAT exam is different for different courses. Architecture Exam Pattern – M.Arch

The duration of the test is 2 hours. All 100 questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions) with a background in B.Architecture. Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

Engineering Exam Pattern

• The test will be held online.
• The duration of the test is 2 hours.
• The test consists of three sections and all questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions).
• Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks. The wrong answer and unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

Note: GATE-qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (Engineering PG) – 2023. However, they need to apply for admission and have to attend counselling as per the schedule.

Humanities Exam Pattern- M.A

The duration of the test is 2 hours. All 100 questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions). Each question has four options, of which one is correct. Each correct answer is awarded two marks. The unanswered questions receive zero.

Law Exam Pattern

• The duration of the test is 2 hours.
• The test consists of three sections and all questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions).
• Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks. The wrong answer and unanswered questions will receive nil marks. 

PG

• The duration of the test is 2 hours.
• The test consists of four sections and all questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions).
• Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 2 marks. The wrong answer and unanswered questions will receive nil marks. 

Note: CLAT-qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PG Law) – 2023. However, they need to apply for admission and have to attend counselling as per the schedule.

• The duration of the test is 90 Minutes.
• The test consists of five sections and all questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions).
• Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. The wrong answer and unanswered questions will receive nil marks. 

GITAM GAT Admit Card 2023

Candidates must log in with their registration credentials to download their GAT Admit Card 2023. To download the admit card, candidates have to enter information such as their registration number/full name, date of birth, and course. The GITAM GAT Admit Card will be displayed on the screen and must be downloaded in PDF format. The GAT Admit Card will include information such as the exam date, exam group, test center address, exam day guidelines, and candidates' personal information.

How to Download GITAM GAT Admit Card?

Step 1: Candidates have to visit the official website of the university for slot booking.

Step 2: Log in to your account using your login ID and password.

Step 3: In the next step, they need to select a slot for the writing exam, test center, and date for taking the exam based on their preference.

Step 4: Students will need to confirm and submit the slot given for the exam.

Step 5: In the next section, you need to click the generated e-hall ticket (admit card) for the GITAM GAT 2023 exam.

Step 6: Final step is to download and print GAT admit card.

GITAM GAT 2023 Exam Centres

The candidates will be allowed to select the exam centers of their choice while booking the slot. The selection of the exam center cannot be changed after the generation of hall tickets. GITAM GAT Counselling 2023

Candidates who pass the GAT Exam are invited to the counselling round based on their merit. Candidates will be assigned seats in their respective courses and universities during the GAT 2023 counselling session. GITAM University will conduct GITAM GAT Counselling 2023 for phase 2. The counselling for GITAM GAT will be held online mode only. The counselling call letter is released in online mode. Shortlisted candidates have to appear in the counselling rounds along with the documents for verification.

GITAM GAT Cutoffs 

The GITAM GAT 2023 cut-off will be announced by the Gandhi Institute of Technology and management. The GITAM GAT cut-off is a way to shortlist candidates for admission into GITAM. The cut-offs help the institution choose suitable candidates for the available courses. It will be released once the results are declared. The cut-off is set based on the lower limit, and the highest limit of the marks scored that particular year.

• Depending on the number of candidates appearing for the exam that particular year, the cut-off of the GITAM GAT 2023 will be decided. 
• The highest score earned in the examination of that year also determines the cut-off 2023 of GITAM GAT.

• Cut-offs also depend on the number of seats vacant for the Department of Technology, Architecture, and Pharmacy.

Once the cut-off is declared by the governing body of Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, the candidates must follow the requirements given by the university. After the cut-offs are given, the final list of selected candidates is also declared.
