TNPSC Group 1 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is yet to release the TNPSC Recruitment Notice 2022. In which, interested candidates can find TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility Criteria as well. In the meantime, given below are the TNPSC Eligibility Criteria details for its Group 1 exams as specified in the previous year’s official notification.

The TNPSC age limit for its TNPSC Group 1 exams for all posts other than that of the Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes) is 32 years of age for all general candidates, and for those with a B.L., it is 33 years. There is a TNPSC age limit relaxation of 5 years for all candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), and other backward communities as per last recruitment notification.

As far as the educational qualification of a candidate applying for the TNPSC Group-1 exams goes, he/ she needs to be a graduate-degree holder from any University recognized under the Central Act, the UGC Act, or a State Act as per last recruitment year.

Special physical qualifications are needed for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police and the District Officer (Fire and Rescue Operations).

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The TNPSC conducts exams for Group 2 posts of the Tamil Nadu State government every year. As such, the Tamil Nadu PSC officials have not yet released the TNPSC Recruitment 2022 stating the eligibility details for the Group 2 cadre. However, the below section covers TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria as per the previous year’s notice.

The minimum TNPSC exam age limit is 18 years to apply for the exams to all TNPSC Group 2 posts except that of the Sub-registrar Grade-II, the Probation officer in the Prison Department, and Probation Officer in the Social Defence department. Whereas, the maximum age limit is 30 years. For the exceptions mentioned above, the minimum age limit is 20, 22, and 26 years respectively, while the maximum age limit is 30. For candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities, there is no maximum age limit to apply as per last recruitment pattern.

The educational qualification required for Group 2 posts varies according to the post specialization. But the candidate needs to be a graduate for a recognized university.

TNPSC Group 3 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The TNPSC Group 3 notification has not yet been released. Meanwhile, candidates can refer to the below section to know the TNPSC Group 3 Eligibility Criteria information as per the previous year’s official notification.

In addition to the general TNPSC exam eligibility criteria, there is a TNPSC age limit and minimum educational qualification for Group-3 recruitment exams.

For a General candidate, the minimum age limit to apply for the TNPSC Group 3 exams is 18, and the maximum is 42 as per the last recruitment pattern.

To be eligible for a TNPSC Group-3 post, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with the specialization relevant to the post he/she is applying for as per the last recruitment post.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The TNPSC Group 4 Notification for 2022 has not yet been released. Meanwhile, candidates can refer to the below section to know the TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility Criteria information as per the previous year’s official notification.

The lower bound of the TNPSC age limit to apply for Group 4 exams is 18 years, while the upper bound varies according to the quota of the candidate as per the last recruitment pattern. The maximum age limit for a General candidate is 30 years, for candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, and Backward classes (Muslims) is 32 years, and for the candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A) communities and Destitute Widows of all castes is 35 years as per last recruitment pattern.

The candidates applying to Group 4 posts should have minimum educational qualifications, i.e., they must have passed the S.S.L.C. Public examinations or any such equivalent examination and should be eligible to enroll in Higher secondary or college studies. Various TNPSC Group 4 posts demand various specializations as per the last recruitment pattern.

TNPSC Combined Engineering Services Eligibility Criteria

No official announcement is made for the year 2022 as of yet. We will inform you as soon as any information is released. Meanwhile, this is the eligibility criteria as per last recruitment pattern for your reference.

The minimum and maximum TNPSC age limit for General candidates to appear in the Combined Engineering Services exam is 18 and 30 years, respectively. For candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities, there is no maximum age limit to apply, and the minimum age limit is 18 years as per last recruitment pattern.

The educational qualifications required to apply to different posts in the Combined Engineering Services is different. But, as a general rule, the candidate must have a B.E. degree or equivalent degree in the specialization relevant to the post from a university recognized by the UGC, the Central Government, or any state government as per the last recruitment pattern.

TNPSC ASE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should read the TNPSC ASE Eligibility Criteria before they apply for the post. The TNPSC ASE Eligibility Criteria has not been released for the year 2022. Meanwhile, candidates can refer to the below section to know the TNPSC ASE Eligibility Criteria information as per the previous year’s official notification.

The maximum age limit of the TNPSC ASE exam is 30 years for the General Candidates, and the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A) is 35 years, whereas for Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims) and other Denotified Communities is 32 years. The TNPSC ASE exam is held to recruit deserving candidates for the post of Assistant System Engineer as per the last recruitment pattern.

In order to be eligible for the post of Assistant System Engineer, a candidate needs to have a B.E. or B. Tech degree in the relevant specialization. In the case of some posts, a diploma degree in the relevant specialization also serves the purpose.

TNPSC DEO Exam Eligibility Criteria

The TNPSC DEO 2022 Exam Notification has not yet been released. Till then candidates can get details about the Eligibility Criteria from the previous years notification. 

In the case of the TNPSC District Education Officer Eligibility Criteria, the upper bound of the Tamil Nadu PSC age limit for candidates applying for teaching posts is 40 years, while that of those appearing for open market posts is 30 years. As per the Tamil Nadu PSC DEO Eligibility Criteria of the previous year, there is no upper age limit for candidates belonging to the ST, SC, SC (A), Destitute Widows, Most Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and other Denotified Communities. For ex-servicemen, the maximum age limit is 48 years, and for differently-abled candidates, there is an age relaxation of up to 10 years as per the last recruitment pattern.

All applicants applying for DEO posts should have a Master’s degree, a B.T., or a B.Ed. Degree and must have studied Tamil under part 1 or 2 of the Pre-university course or the Higher Secondary Course as per last recruitment pattern.
