Age Limit

A candidate appearing for the WB Forest Guard examination must have the minimum age limit of 18 years. The maximum age limit or the upper age limit is 27 years.   • Note: These requirements are relaxable in the case of Hill men in the district of Darjeeling. These requirements are also relaxable in the case of Scheduled Tribes Candidates. For these categories of candidates the minimum requirement of height shall be 152.5 cms for men and 145 cms for women. Similarly, chest girth measurements are relaxable by 5 cm for both men and women.
  • The candidates must have sound hearing faculty, eye sight, requisite height, chest girth, chest expansion and general fitness for undertaking arduous outdoor work in the Forest Directorate.
  • In the case of defective vision, it must be corrected to at least 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 in the other eye but the candidate must not suffer from color blindness or congenital or other diseases of the eye

Domicile

All the candidates applying for the WB Forest Guard job profile must be Indian residents and must fulfill all the other mandatory requirements. 

Number of Attempts

A candidate can take an infinite number of attempts at the WB Forest Guard examination until he/she reaches the upper age limit and fulfills all the other WB Forest Guard eligibility criteria.
