The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts the Rajya Seva Examination every year to recruit eligible candidates for various posts. They are recruited under various ministries and subordinate services under the Government of Maharashtra. These posts are mainly classified into three categories or classes:

  • Class A (Gazetted): MPSC Class A category of posts are higher level administrative and executive posts. They are prestigious posts. Hence, they get higher remuneration compared to other categories of posts. They are Gazetted Officers as well.
  • Class B: Class B category of posts are just below the Class A category of posts. They are intermediate level. They are non-gazetted officers. So their remuneration is less than the remuneration of the Class A category of posts.
  • Class C: The last is the MPSC Class C category of posts. Employees under this category of posts get the least remuneration. They are recruited under various subordinate services.

Class B officers occupy intermediate-level positions within the government, and their salaries are generally lower in comparison to Class A Gazetted officers. The salary of a MPSC Class B officer is subject to variation depending on their specific position, ranging from a few thousand rupees to several tens of thousands per month.

-> MPSC has extended the date for online application fee payment. Candidates can now pay the fees online till 23 April, 2025. 

-> The revised exam dates for the MPSC mains exam were announced. The State services main examination 2024 will be held on 27th, 28th & 29th May 2025 as per the revised schedule. 

-> MPSC State service 2025 notification has been released for 385 vacancies.
