The bar graph given below shows percentage of people (male +female) not attended the seminar out of the total people in the city and percentage of male attended the seminar out of the total people attended the seminar from four different (A, B, C and D) cities.
Note: Total people in a city = People (male + female) attending the seminar + people (male + females) not attending the seminar. People attending/not attending the seminar = males + females
The given table shows the ratio of male and female who did not attending the seminar.
City |
Ratio of male and female who did not attend the seminar |
A |
3:2 |
B |
5:3 |
C |
5:4 |
D |
6:5 |
Ratio of total number of people in city C and D is 2:3. Sum of male who attend seminar from C and D together is 201 and sum of female who attend seminar from C and D together is 289. Difference between male and female who did not attend seminar from D is z. Find the value of z + 75?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFLet number of people in city C and D is 200d and 300d respectively.
Number of males who attend seminar from city C is
= 200d × [55/100] × [30/100] = 33d
Number of males who attend seminar from city D is
= 300d × [45/100] × [50/100] = 67.5d
So, 33d + 67.5d = 201
Or, d = 201 /100.5 = 2
Number of people who did not attend the seminar from D is
⇒ 55 200 × 2 /100 = 220
Difference between male and female who did not attend the seminar from D is
⇒ 220 × 1 /11 = 20 = z
So, required value = 20 + 75 = 95
