Calculation:
Let the length of the tree be L metres.
According to the question,
2π × L × \(\frac {18}{360}\) = 44
⇒ \(\frac {44}{7}\) × L × \(\frac {18}{360}\) = 44
⇒ L = 140
∴ The length of the tree is 140 metres.
