Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The milk and water in two vessels are in the ratio of 3 : 1 and 7 : 11 respectively.
Concept used:
Rule of Alligation
Calculation:
Ratio of milk and water in Vessel 1 = 3 : 1
Ratio of milk and water in Vessel 2 = 7 : 11
Now using alligation method for milk,
∴ required ratio = (7 – 9)/18 : (2 – 3)/4 = -2/18 : -1/4 = 1/9 : 1/4 = 4 : 9
