Candidates can apply for the JPSC Civil Services Exam online through the JPSC website. The steps to apply online are as follows:

Step 1: Official Website

Click on the following link, and you will be redirected to the JPSC Official Website.

Step 2: Advertisement

You can take many examinations under JPSC; find the advertisement for “Apply Online JPSC Assistant Engineer Post.”.

Step 3: Online Registration

Click on the link and enter the personal details like Name, Address, Father's Name, Date of birth, etc. The candidate will be getting a registration id/password to your registered email address.

Step 4: Submit Documents

Once after the registration, the candidate has to log in and submit the certificates like category certificate, mark sheets etc.

Step 5: Upload Signature

Upload Signature, photograph and click on the submit option.

Step 6: Pay Application Fees

JPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2025 Selection Process

The selection of candidates for JPSC Civil Services posts is done in multiple phases. The process evaluates the candidates on several parameters to select the most suitable individuals:

Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (400 marks)

It is an objective-type screening test of two papers of 200 marks each. Candidates who clear the prelims will be called for the next phase.

Stage 2: Main Exam (950 Marks)

It consists of 6 compulsory papers of 250 marks each on Essay, General Hindi, General Studies Papers I-IV and optional subjects. This tests the candidate's conceptual understanding.

Stage 3: Physical Test (Qualifying)

Only for certain posts, this test evaluates the physical fitness of candidates through measures like height, running ability, etc. The JPSC Civil Services Physical Test will only be conducted for Deputy Superintendent of Police/District Commandant/Prison Superintendent and Probation Officer posts.

Stage 4: Interview (100 Marks)

It is the final stage where the JPSC assesses the candidate's leadership skills, values, aptitude, and suitability for the post through a personal interaction. Candidates are evaluated out of 100 marks here.

The merit list is then prepared on the basis of total marks scored in the main examination and interview. The selection is done on the basis of highest merit. This rigorous selection process ensures that the best candidates are inducted as civil servants in the state of Jharkhand.

JPSC Eligibility Criteria 2025

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission will release the Eligibility Criteria for JPSC Civil Services along with the detailed notification. As per the previous year eligibility criteria, candidates must fulfill certain qualifications to appear for the JPSC exams 2025.

  • The age limit to apply for the JPSC Civil Services 2025 will expected to be 21 to 35 years as of 1st January 2025. However, there is relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories. 
  • Educational qualification required is a Bachelor's degree from any recognized university. 
  • Candidates must be Indian citizens and there is no restriction on the number of attempts.

JPSC Civil Services Syllabus 2025

The JPSC Civil Services Syllabus for the Mains exam includes subjects like General Hindi, General Studies Paper 1 and 2, Essay writing, and two optional subjects. 

  • The General Studies papers assess candidates' understanding of topics like history of India and the world, Indian Polity, Indian economy, geography, environment and general science.

JPSC Salary & Posts 

Candidates appointed to different posts through the JPSC examination are entitled to JPSC Civil Services Salary specified by the 7th Pay Commission. The pay scale for posts like Jharkhand Administrative Service and Jharkhand Finance Service ranges from Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800 with a grade pay of Rs. 5,400. The Jharkhand Education Service Class-II post also offers the same pay scale. Meanwhile, positions such as Jharkhand Social Security Service and Jharkhand Information Service come with a salary in the pay scale of Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800 and a grade pay of Rs. 4,800. In addition to salary, government employees also receive allowances as specified in the salary structure.

JPSC Civil Services Answer Key 2025

After successful completion of the JPSC Civil Services Main written exam, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission is expected to release the answer keys on its website in due course of time. Candidates will be able to check the JPSC Civil Services Answer Keys and match their responses. The answer keys will enable candidates to get an idea about their probable score and calculate their chances of clearing the cut-off. However, it is to be noted that the answers released in the answer keys are provisional in nature and subject to change if any representation is received.

JPSC Civil Services Cut Off 2025 (Expected)

Based on the difficulty level of the JPSC Civil Services Mains exam papers, the expected cut-off will vary for each subject as well as the category of the candidate. As per the previous year trends, the JPSC Civil Services Mains cut-off for general category candidates is expected to be in the range of 80-100 marks out of 300. For backward class candidates, it may be in the range of 70-90 marks. SC/ST/PH category candidates may require around 65-80 marks to clear the cut-off. However, candidates must note that these cut-offs are just an estimate and the actual JPSC Civil Services Cut Off may differ depending on several factors, like the number of applicants and level of competition.
