Approximate single discount equivalent to three successive discounts of 25% each.

Formula Used:

Single discount equivalent to two successive discounts of a % and b %

= (a + b - \(\frac{ab}{100}\))%

Calculation:

Here, a = 25% , and b = 25 %

So, the single discount gets, (25 + 25 - 25 × 25/100) %

⇒ (50 - 6.25) %

⇒ 43.75 %

Again,

Here, a = 43.75 % , and b = 25 %

So, the single discount gets,

(43.75 + 25 - 43.75 × 25/100) %

⇒ (68.75 - 10.90) %

⇒ 57.81 %

Approximate single discount is 57.81%
